Methodology

CarrierDossier republishes official public records from the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), distributed on data.transportation.gov. This preview covers active entities with a Canadian physical address that are registered as carriers (entities registered only as shippers, brokers or freight forwarders are excluded). Québec and Ontario are processed first.

1. Data is downloaded from the datasets listed below. Each profile shows the date each dataset was last updated by the publisher.
2. For each carrier, a structured "facts" record is built (identity, authority, insurance filings, orders, out-of-service orders, BASIC snapshot).
3. The summary is generated only from that facts record. Every sentence carries a citation to the dataset and its date. An automatic validator rejects any sentence without a source, any number that does not appear in the facts, and accusatory vocabulary.
4. We report dated facts and the absence of records. We do not score, rate or characterize a company.

Limits: the FMCSA files cover entities registered with U.S. DOT. Provincial records (Québec CTQ, Ontario CVOR, NSC) are not included in this preview. Absence of a record can mean the carrier is not required to hold it (for example, a Canadian carrier that does not haul for-hire in the U.S.).

Right of reply and corrections

If you represent a listed carrier and believe information is inaccurate or lacks context, use "Claim this profile" on the profile page. Corrections to the underlying data must be made with FMCSA (e.g. MCS-150 update, DataQs); we refresh our copy after the official file changes. A carrier may add a short, factual response that will be shown alongside its profile once claims open.

Privacy

We show business information from public registries. To limit personal information, we never display street addresses, email addresses or officer names, even when present in the source file. For incorporated businesses (legal name ending in Inc., Ltd., Ltée, Corp., etc., or numbered companies) we show the business phone number and city/province; for other carriers, often sole proprietors, only city and province are shown until the carrier claims its profile. Newsletter and waitlist forms collect only what is needed (email, optional name/role/province), with explicit consent, for the stated purpose only.
